About

We'd rather be useful than impressive.

There is a great deal of noise about AI at the moment and very little of it is aimed at someone running a real business with real deadlines. We try to be the boring, straight-talking end of it.

Why we work this way

Most AI projects we've seen fail for the same reason: somebody bought the technology before anybody measured the problem. Six months later there's a tool nobody uses, a bill nobody can justify, and a manager who's now more sceptical than when they started.

So we do it the other way round. Measure first, in your business, with real numbers. Then decide. Quite often the answer involves less technology than people expect.

What you'll actually get

A small, senior team. The person who works out what needs building is the person who builds it — there's no account manager sitting between you and the work, and nobody will send you a slide deck about your digital transformation journey.

We'll explain what we're doing in language you can repeat to your board without having to look anything up. If we ever can't do that, it's a sign we don't understand it well enough ourselves.

Where we stand on the scary bit

People are worried about what this technology does to jobs, and pretending otherwise would be insulting. Our experience is that the work these systems take on is the work nobody wanted — the retyping, the filing, the chasing. But if we ever look at a process and think the honest answer is that a role changes significantly, we'll tell you at the start, not after you've spent the money.

Who we work with

Businesses with somewhere between twenty and a couple of thousand staff, enough volume that the repetitive work genuinely hurts, and systems that already hold the information. Regulated industries are welcome — the record-keeping is built in rather than added later.

How we're set up

Remote-first, across APAC and Europe, and happy to come in for the review if being in the room helps — for the watching-the-work part, it usually does.

Talk to us

The review is free and the conversation is usually worth having whether or not anything comes of it.
